Meet Taylor Perryman

Licensed Professional Counselor & Registered Play Therapist

Ever since high school, I knew I wanted to be a therapist. I declared a major in psychology during my college freshman orientation and never looked back. It wasn't until graduate school that I realized my passion for helping children, adolescents, and their families. I am humbled to be invited to listen and walk alongside you and your family through the highs and lows of life.

In addition to being a therapist, I am a military spouse, aunt, dog mom, avid crafter, and outdoor enthusiast. Whether I'm hiking, playing with my beloved dog, Ava, or camping with my husband, you'll most likely find me enjoying nature in my spare time. In fact, Riverbank Counseling & Play Therapy is named after my favorite spot deep in the Arkansas Ozark Mountains called the Buffalo National River. The Buffalo River has been my refuge where I found peace, inspiration, restoration, and discovered my strength.

When creating Riverbank, I knew I wanted it to be a place of refuge just as it has been for me. Somewhere my clients and their families could come to explore, learn, heal, and overcome.

My Approach

It is said that the strength of the therapeutic relationship is the biggest predictor of change in therapy and I believe this to be true. Because of this I strive for authenticity so every client knows that showing up just as you are is enough. I approach counseling with a trauma-informed, person centered lens. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, expressive arts, directive and non-directive play therapy, and solution focused techniques.

As a therapist that is also a Christian, my faith guides me in the counseling process and defines my worldview. However, I happily work with clients from a variety of backgrounds, including religious and non-religious beliefs.
